For one, procrastination is not your friend. If you’re reading this in a panic, you’re not alone. There’s a lot of last-minute gifters out there, but from this point going forward, you can’t procrastinate. Nobody likes the anxiety of trying to grab a last-minute gift, only to find that all the shipping dates suck. Since a lot of the products we review are available on Amazon (what isn’t, right?), we’re big advocates of getting Amazon Prime to cut-down on delivery time restrictions. Even during the holiday season, they manage to pull off miraculous deliveries that still shock most of us.
From the smallest stocking stuffers for husbands to the most heartfelt Christmas gifts for Mom, we've got the gifts that will make this year extra special for everyone. Imagine a Christmas season without last minute shopping at crowded stores! Instead, imagine sitting down and having your Christmas gifts wrapped and under the tree with time to spare! Imagine time for wassail and stringing popcorn, listening to Bing Crosby and standing under the mistletoe!
There’s nothing wrong with paying less attention to the stitch colors of a jacket or messenger bag, or not minding how the boots look, as long as they function. There’s a lot of guys out there who would much rather receive practical gifts, rather than something that essentially doesn’t serve a purpose (more on this shortly). They don’t find expensive clothing as attractive as a fuller wallet, which is totally okay. This guy understands and appreciates a new, hefty jacket to protect him from the elements when his job or trade requires him to work outside. He can find the joy and thoughtfulness in these items that blend function and fashion but generally enjoys the more practical or usable gifts.

If you're looking for gifts for brothers, dads and boyfriends, crazy socks, men's grooming kits and Star Wars products are at the tops of men's lists this year. For the younger kids, you can't go wrong with itty bittys® and other cuddly stuffed animals or developmental toys perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. Personalized books are another fun gift for young readers because they become a part of the story. You'll also find Christmas books for all ages, from board books for babies to romantic fiction—based on Hallmark movies—for adults. For the foodies in your life, we have lots of adorable Christmas kitchen accessories, like tea towels, salt-and-pepper shakers, serving platters and coffee mugs, as well as fun entertaining and bar gifts. Budget ahead of time, order ahead of time and expect delivery delays. We would also like to add that if you’re in a highly-populated area, you’re going to be a prime target for box theft during the holiday season. It’s an unfortunate truth, but this is where planning ahead of time just saved your skin. If the delivery date doesn’t matter, you can ensure that you’ll be home for it without stressing for time. You hear a knock at the door, hop to, and boom: the package is safely inside.
EDC tools and functional items, things that they can actually use in their day-to-day life that optimize tasks. These say that you’ve been paying attention and that you have values in line with theirs: saving time wherever and whenever possible. Multi-tools and gadgets that can simplify their lives are all thoughtful, and things you can still see them using down the road.
Last year, I recommended the Skinnytaste Fast and Slow cookbook (which I own and love), so this year I have to recommend the latest cookbook in the author’s series—Skinnytaste One and Done. As a longtime follower of the blog Skinnytaste, I can confirm all of Gina’s recipes are both healthy and amazing. If you want to get another gift to go with it, check out our favorite small appliances so they can use the cookbook with it.

When you portray your favorite person on a dinner plate, they'll feel like the guest of honor at every meal. Using a photo as a starting point, draw the shape and fine features of your muse onto a plain white plate using a porcelain paint pen. Use a paintbrush to add blush and hair. Keep acetone (nail polish remover works well) and tissues close to remove any mistakes. To set the paint, bake the plate according to the paint manufacturer's instructions. Although the plate should be food-safe, double-check the manufacturer's instructions or use it for decorative purposes only.
Most everyone knows of the age-old practice (seriously, it dates back to the Middle Ages) of giving specific anniversary gifts based on the number of years you’ve been wed. The idea behind it is that with each anniversary that passes, you strengthen your relationship. So, while these anniversary gifts may start out simple (paper for your first year and flowers for your fourth), their substance and significance increases as your investment to each other does. As time has evolved, though, so have these anniversary gift lists to match our more modern way of living.
Well Played - If you want to throw some DIY in the mix and make it the most auspicious gift they’ll receive, this one’s pretty fun. All it takes is a large cardboard box, one sheet of wrapping paper, and a stapler. Put the box vertically, and make a 2x3 grid of circular cuts. Lay the wrapping paper along the inside and make it like a carnival game, while putting their gift behind one of the hole punches. It’s also fun to have them go through all of them without having the gift inside. When they turn around baffled, just hand it to them; you’re sure to get a laugh from the room.
November brings us one legendary sale, but before then, it’s all about Veterans Day sales to seriously stock up on housewarming gifts, home appliances, and small electronics. This is one of the more minor sales when it comes to gift-giving, but still a noticeable blip on the radar. If he’s a bit culinary guy, you can grab him something along the lines of a new countertop appliance, or take a look at the selection of grills. If he’s in a more snowy environment, it’s a good time to grab one of these for later and gift it during the summer months.
