From the 20th wedding anniversary onwards, traditional gift materials are not offered every year; typically only every five years or so. The modern list differs in this respect, whereby a gift material is suggested for every year, at least up until the 30th anniversary, which possibly signifies a couples’ need to continue investing as much effort as possible into sustaining the commitment and romance in the later years of marriage.

The holiday season means a little more celebrating (ahem, wine), but that doesn’t have to be bad! Put that collection of wine corks to use with this creative Christmas gift. A wine cork base makes a bulletin board both functional and artsy—and we love the idea of hanging Christmas cards on it for the holidays. Choose a frame deep enough to hold whole corks, or cut the corks in half lengthwise with an extra-fine razor saw (available at crafts stores). Secure the corks to the frame backing using wood glue.
Just Like the Newsies - There’s just something classic about brown paper and leather strip tying it all together. This is fairly cheap since the paper isn’t bleached or treated in most cases. It also saves you from buying a big roll of wrapping paper when you’re only wrapping a single gift. This wrapping is excellent for gifting clothing or stylish items.
We all know someone who can use a little more desk organization for Christmas. (Or maybe that someone is you? We don’t judge Christmas gifts you want to keep). Organizing is made more exciting with these labeled glass jars. Simply spray the jars with three coats of chalkboard paint. Once the paint is dry, label each jar with a chalk pen. If hand-lettering isn't for you, you can add white adhesive letters in your favorite font to label the jars instead.

Text: This Christmas gift preserves your favorite coloring pages, and it’s way cuter than just hanging them on the fridge. Just trace the outline of a wooden letter on the back of your coloring page, cut it out, and decoupage the design to the letter’s front. Craft multiple letters to spell out a friend’s name or showcase a classic monogram for mom. No matter the gift recipient, these handmade letters make a timeless DIY Christmas gift that your best friends will love. Download our FREE coloring pages to get started.

If you know anything about millennials, it's that you prioritize adventures and experiences over just buying random stuff. Maybe FOMO has a little bit to do with it, OR maybe you're just the most in-tune generation ever! #WOKE. Tickets to anywhere, whether it be plane tickets or concert tickets, are a great first anniversary gift as you and your spouse continue to build memories. Doesn't really matter where you go, just get out and do something fun. And remember: Pics or it didn't happen.
Jenna - I sent this crate to a long-term contractor of mine who deserved a cool and unique show of… more appreciation. He absolutely loved the gift (and probably the crate and duct tape wrapping even more!)--he said it totally made his day (and week!). I had the gift delivered to his office and he said all of his colleagues were standing around watching when it was delivered, wondering what it was and how in the heck he was going to open it. I wish I could have been there to see it! Thank, Man Crates! :D less
One last thing; don’t put the pressure on them for a reaction. Men don’t want to make others feel bad if they don’t like the gift, and the gift-giver is lighting up with anticipation of a reaction. Men will provide honest reactions, but the more and more pressure on them, the harder it’s going to be for them to reveal their reaction, and make the situation deflate/awkward. Don’t put the pressure on.
When my husband and I were approaching our first anniversary, we made a deal that we would choose gifts that align with the traditional anniversary gifts, year by year. I don’t know why, exactly, but something about giving gifts that have been given for hundreds of years appealed to us, I guess. To review, here are the traditional wedding anniversary gifts:
So you’ve gone to all the trouble to find what you thought was the perfect gift, only to read the expression on their face, and thank the stars above that you kept that gift receipt or proof of purchase. This is where you’ll have to pay serious attention to shopping online. Buying from stores that have brick and mortar establishments nearby will allow you to go with them, and physically exchange the gift for one of two things: store credit, or an item of equal or lesser value.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement and smiles of children on that magical holiday morning. We want to ensure that those smiles never end. Whether you’re shopping for fun presents for babies and toddlers who are just beginning to know the joy of the holiday, kids who are learning and growing, or high-tech tweens and teens, we have the most unique gift ideas for kids of all ages!
I ordered several of these blankets for Christmas Presents and they were a hit! Personalization Mall shipped them so quickly (probably within 48 hours of ordering), the embroidery was beautifully done with no mistakes, and the blanket was extremely soft. I was amazed at the price I paid and the quality I received. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a perfect blanket or gift.
One of the easiest ways to keep a relationship fresh is to explore new things together, and cooking is a fun one to play with since you can do it together in the comfort of your own home, and then enjoy the delicious results (or have a new story of a cooking disaster to share!). This kit is clever: Your challenge is to roll the dice, each of which has a different food group or kind of ingredient on it (like cooking methods, grains, veggies, herbs and proteins), then try to concoct a dinner using the ingredients you rolled. Being creative together and problem-solving to build a meal will surely bring you closer together, especially if you don’t take it to seriously — and solve the problem with a glass of wine in hand.
Most experience events, if not all, should also have you included in the initial cost. It’s not much of an experience if they don’t have someone to go with, and if you’re a best friend or sibling, you know them intimately enough to get something they’ll truly, deeply enjoy. That’s an experience that they’ll want to share with you. The biggest mistake that experience day shoppers make, is not including themselves and running into financial problems. Just understand those experience days, on average, don’t include the cost of transit, tolls, food, drink, etc.
Spending more doesn’t make the gift more valuable; in fact, it can actually spark more of an argument than just ignoring the event, and not getting him a gift at all. If you’re the SO, you might spark a feeling of indebtedness from the gift recipient. Even in our progressive world, there are still issues where men will feel inadequate based on their spouse earning more than them, providing more “value” to the family (however they like to measure it), and so on. Getting a gift that’s expensive or out of an acceptable price range, could send a bad message. Men are simple, and enjoy simple gifts; study what you believe they’ll want, but don’t overthink it and psych yourself out.
